Today, our program had the pleasure of hosting a dynamic four-university videoconference, bringing together participants from Taipei Medical University (TMU), National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU), The Oregon State University (OSU), and National Taiwan University (NTU). The session created a vibrant platform for cross-institutional learning and exchange.
The highlight of the event was an insightful presentation by Dr. Howard Lee, a PhD student in Global Health and Health Security, titled “Funding for Verticalor Horizontal Maternal Health Programs? Evaluating Aid Disbursements and Maternal Mortality in a Three-Decade Global Longitudinal Study.” His presentation explored the complex relationship between funding approaches and maternal health outcomes, offering a data-driven perspective on how aid allocation strategies can shape progress in reducing maternal mortality worldwide.
The discussion that followed reflected the strength of global academic collaboration, as participants engaged critically with the findings, shared diverse perspectives, and explored implications for policy and practice.
This videoconference underscores our program’s commitment to fostering international partnerships and advancing evidence-based dialogue on pressing global health challenges. We look forward to continued collaboration and impactful conversations in the future.
